On May 12, charter school alumni traveled to Sacramento to hand-deliver a petition with 500+ signatures supporting Governor Jerry Brown's call for $20 million in start-up funds for new charter schools across California to various legislators who serve on the Assembly and Senate Budget subcommittees.
These funds are essential to ensure that charter schools continue to grow and help more students like us succeed, especially in underserved communities, California needs charter school start-up funding. These funds will help offset some of the loss of federal funding previously available for this purpose.
Thank you for taking the issue directly to the doors of lawmakers!
